SEAN SAGAR

Do you want tо fall іn love with another fictional soldier? Sean Sagar, a British model and actor, has you covered. You may have seen him іn the 2019 action comedy “The Gentlemen” оr оn BBC One’s “Our Girl” as Private Jaiden “Monk” Montgomery. However, іn April, he will be reprising his soldier role оn the big screen іn Guy Ritchie’s “The Covenant.”

Give us more information about your background and yourself. What led you to pursue acting?

I grew up in Forest Gate, East London, and I was street cast in the 2009 movie ILL Manors, which was written and directed by Ben Drew, best known for Plan B. After being invited to attend a casting call for “Top Boy” Summer House, I was cast, signed, and have been performing ever since.

You declared in 2022 that you had been chosen to star in Guy Ritchie’s upcoming movie, “The Cove-nant.” How is this project coming along?

It felt so unreal to be cast into the Covenant. Being cast in another incredible project with Guy Ritchie and other actors I had always wanted to work with was a blessing because I had previously worked with him. For me, it was an experience and undoubtedly a huge acting lesson to be around people like Jake Gyllenhall, Dar Salim, and the rest of the incredible cast! Playing a soldier was also my first American role, so it was a fun combination to experiment with.

Which project or role would you most like to be involved in?

Getting to play a part that allows me to try being the good guy with a dark twist would be my ideal project. A police officer or lawyer with a sinister and twisted side is someone I would love to try. One that is unknown to the audience. I would really love to have that character arc and journey, just for the sake of it. When the plot suddenly takes a dark turn, I want to be the guy that nobody anticipated.

For you, what does punk mean? Is punk ever a part of your style or way of life?

I think punk has a big impact on you as a person, even down to your lifestyle, attitude, and manner of walking. the capacity to simply own your own vibe and style. Experimenting with your style and learning new things about yourself is also cool.

How did working on “Fate: The Winx Saga” with Netflix go? Was it different from what you had experienced before?

Winx was a dream to work on. Being able to be in a magical and powerful world was amazing to me because I have loved fantasy since I was a child. Shooting made me feel like a kid again. You will never get used to seeing yourself in a show where you have abilities. Additionally, it was quite different from any other role I’ve played, which was good because it gave me the opportunity to push myself. In my opinion, being in a fantasy television program or movie requires you to be completely in tune with your imagination and feel free to create fictional characters. Therefore, I suppose there is more space for creativity and play.

When you are not working, what is your favorite activity to do?

I enjoy playing Call of Duty when I’m not working! Playing video games helps me forget about the real world and break free from my tendency to overthink and overanalyze situations. Another activity I enjoy doing in my free time is football. Even if I have a thousand things going on, my worries seem to vanish the moment I take the field. That must be the true benefit of working out. Despite its physical nature, it has a profound effect on my mental health.

Which character, and why, would you have chosen to play if you could have in any previously released film?

I would adore playing Jim Carrey’s character, The Mask. If not only because it gave them a great deal of freedom to create a world and a character that everyone wanted to be a part of. No matter your age, you were engrossed in the entire movie and thought that mask was real. I would even act out scenes and pretend to put on a mask as though it worked.
